Michael James Nicholson (VII -VDoubleOne) The Lucky Son was Born Early Morning December 13th 1982 in Hamilton, Ontario. Officially In the Music Business Since 2002. Writer/Performer/HipHop Artist/MC and Owner of VII (VDoubleOne) Entertainment and also a Member of Socan, The Society ofcomposers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada.
VDoubleOne is at the forefront of a new generation of hiphop . His motivational lyrics , and passionate stage presence have earned him recognition from devoted fans all across Canada .
A refreshing blend of Motivational/club HipHop , his Album 'Just Imagine 'convincingly takes hiphop music to a whole new level.
VDoubleOne's First Debut Album "SMOOTH BLEND" Released in October 2003 . Recorded and Mastered at NDR Studios in Hamilton,Ontario, 500 Copies were professionally pressed wrapped and sold throughout Southern Ontario. The ILL producers behind the album was no other than Don P and BM of North District Records giving the Album truly a "Smooth Blend" with a jazzy feel, and laid back vibe. Featured Artist on the Album was a young hiphop heavyhitter named Shifty(formally known as VZN) with his hit song "Competition".The Album "Smooth Blend" also has guest dialogue by E. Aguilar and additional female vocals by Sarah . The dope city scene graphics , album cover and photography for Smooth Blend were done by Paul C of ( www.indev-media.com ).
VDoubleOne continued on in 2004 Performing his hit songs "Lyrical Vet", "One & Only" at venue spots like Home Night club, Back 2 Basics Jam 2004, and the Grand Opening of Club Heaven. In summer of 2004 VDoubleOne was invited for an On Air Interview at 93.3 CFMU Mc Master Universities HipHop Show "Booty Call Mondays" . The Station featured the Tracks "Smooth Blend", and " Verbal Tragedies" . Making more movements , VDoubleOne performed Live @ the Avalon Night CLub for a 2005 New Years Private Party along side well known and respected DJ Dragon.
Summer 2005 VDoubleOne moved to Kitchener Ontario, there he constructs his 2nd project , writing , working, studying, researching, and soaking up the inspirations from his new surroundings. Making connections , VDoubleOne moves into 2006 , motivated and starts to record and piece together his 2nd Album . In Summer July 14th 2006 VDoubleOne releasd hisheavily anticipated album "Just Imagine" . Recorded and mastered at 3rd Degree Studios by Duru M, and the talented Jonny Riddim . 1000 Copies were professionally printed , pressed and wrapped for distrubution. The master minds behind the beats and production was Don P of North District Records , J1 of So Fresh Productions, and Jonny Riddim of Riddim Productions. The Cover design , graphics, and colour collage was done by Matt of Spectre Productions. Featured artists on "Just Imagine" were Shifty , Mr. E , and
Jonny Riddim. Moving fast into the fall of 2006 VDoubleOne would gain noticable recognition from all his fans across Ontario and nearly sell out of his 1st rotation of "Just Imagine". In November of 2006 VDoubleOne's hit song "The World is Mine" was featured on the National Radio Station 91.5 The Beat in Kitchener, Ont. Shortly after VDoubleOne was invited for an On-Air Interview on The Exposure Show with Mr.D on 91.5 The Beat. The Local College Station on 88.3 Flavas Radio featured his hit song "The World Is Mine" on the Monday Night Mix down Show. Through the Holidays of 2006 VII took time off to travel and eventually packed up and moved out to the beautiful Vancouver Island , British Columbia.
In Spring 2007 After settling in , VDub would continue to push, move ,sell copies of his Album "Just Imagine" and begin to promote his Album all over the West Coast. In the remainder of 2007 VII would eventually meet some major Canadian HipHop Artists like Belly, Red 1 from The Rascals, Classified ,
D.O, and some dope locally talanted individuals from all over the west. With 2008 quickly approaching VDub prepares for his 3rd project . Still Rockin crowds and performing live at local hot spots VDoubleOne begins his 2008 journey reflecting on his past but more so on his future career. 2008 will be the year of growth , power, and successfully reaching the top of the Canadian music industries long ladder. His much anticipated 3rd Album is expected to get distrubution from Universal Canada and have colaborations from Canada's top HipHop Artists . VDoubleOne is one of the most consistent , and talented hiphop artists in Canada SO STAY TUNED IN!
